Melanie Kyles is a designer and exhibiting embellishment artist who works alongside other likeminded creatives. She graduated under Leeds Met with a Distinction in Textiles and Surface Design FD and 1st in her Creative Practice BA, and developed her surface application skills further with tuition from mentors Diana Springall, an expert embroiderer and collector with over 40 years experience, and Jessica Pile, Production Director from the prestigious Hand & Lock, in association with Mastered. Melanie's accessories have sold in several continents, and her artwork has exhibited in New York as a part of ‘Exchange Rates’ with Vane gallery. She is very much a part of the local creative community, taking part and helping to organise events for the annual Late Shows and Museums at Night with her studio and its members at Ampersand Inventions. She also teaches freelance workshops in sewing, embroidery and surface application, working alongside undergraduates, adult learners and members of the public to equip them with new skills they can benefit from and be inspired by.
